If supply issues arise, our team will guide you through available options and support uninterrupted care so you can remain on track with your treatment plan.
What is TideMD?
TideMD is a virtual care platform that connects patients with licensed U.S. healthcare providers who specialize in medication-guided weight-loss treatment. Our clinicians evaluate your health goals, determine whether GLP-1 therapy is appropriate, and create a personalized plan to help you achieve safe and sustainable results.
Because our program is fully online, you can meet with your TideMD provider and access your treatment from anywhere in the United States.

Your appointment can be self-scheduled through your secure patient portal during the onboarding process. If you’re looking for a specific provider or need help connecting, our support team is always available to assist you.

What can I expect when I join TideMD?
We divide our program into 4 clear phases:
Phase 1 – You will meet with a licensed U.S. provider to review your health history, discuss your goals, and determine if GLP-1 treatment is appropriate. If eligible, you’ll begin your personalized plan.
Phase 2 – We establish a clinical baseline for monitoring and determine whether any labs or assessments are needed to ensure safe treatment. You will continue meeting virtually with your TideMD provider to adjust your plan as needed.
Phase 3 – Ongoing visits with your provider help monitor progress, manage dosing, and make any necessary treatment adjustments to ensure safe, steady weight loss.
Phase 4 – Your provider will evaluate your progress and determine next steps for long-term maintenance, ensuring you remain supported through every stage of your journey.
Can I join TideMD from anywhere in the United States?
Yes. TideMD is a virtual telehealth platform, and you can access our licensed providers and weight-loss services from anywhere in the United States.
What will my virtual doctor visits look like?
Before your virtual visit with a TideMD provider, you’ll complete a set of secure intake forms where we gather information about your medical history, current medications, lifestyle habits, and any health concerns such as blood pressure, blood sugar, or nutrition.
Your provider will review this information to build a clear understanding of your health background and weight-loss goals. During your appointment, you’ll discuss treatment options, eligibility for GLP-1 therapy, and the plan that best fits your individual needs. Every step is designed to ensure your care is safe, personalized, and clinically appropriate.
How is TideMD different from other weight-loss programs?
At TideMD, your care is led by licensed U.S. healthcare providers who take the time to understand your goals and create a plan tailored to your medical needs. Unlike generic weight-loss programs, our treatment is guided by clinical expertise, ongoing follow-ups, and evidence-based medication options when appropriate.
Because TideMD is fully virtual, you can access your provider and your treatment plan from anywhere in the United States — without waiting rooms or in-person appointments. You remain an active partner in your care, and your provider works with you at every stage of your journey.
I’m switching from another program. Do I need to start at the lowest dose?
Not necessarily. If you are transferring from another program and can provide documentation of your previous medication and dosage, a TideMD provider may be able to continue you at your current dose if it is clinically appropriate and safe. Your provider will review your history to determine the best starting point for your treatment.
Who is eligible to join TideMD?
Adults seeking medically guided weight-loss support may be eligible to join TideMD. Eligibility for GLP-1 prescriptions is determined based on the latest clinical guidelines for patients with obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (BMI ≥27) with a weight-related condition.
If you’re unsure whether you qualify, you can complete our quick 5-minute online assessment to explore your options.
Can I join TideMD if I am under 18?
At this time, TideMD serves adult patients only. Our program is available to individuals 18 years and older who meet the medical criteria for GLP-1 treatment. We are not currently offering pediatric weight-management services.
Can I join TideMD if I have pre-diabetes, diabetes, hypertension, or other health conditions?
Yes. Many patients with pre-existing medical conditions are eligible for evaluation through TideMD. During your intake process, you’ll complete detailed health forms where you can share information about conditions such as pre-diabetes, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or other concerns.
Your provider will review this information to determine whether GLP-1 treatment is appropriate and safe for your individual health profile.
What medications do TideMD providers prescribe?
TideMD providers perform a comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, symptoms, current medications, and previous treatment experiences to determine the safest and most effective option for your weight-loss plan. Depending on your individual needs, your clinician may consider the following evidence-based medications:
- Tirzepatide
- Semaglutide
- NAD+
- Glutathione
Your TideMD clinician will recommend a treatment plan based on your health goals, safety considerations, and clinical guidelines.
What is Wegovy®, and how is it different from other GLP-1 medications?
Wegovy® is a semaglutide medication within the GLP-1 class, similar to Ozempic®. GLP-1 medications work by helping regulate appetite, slowing gastric emptying, and supporting improved metabolic function.
While multiple GLP-1 medications share similar mechanisms, Wegovy® is specifically FDA-approved for weight management. Your TideMD provider can help you understand how Wegovy® compares to other GLP-1 options and which treatment may be most appropriate for you.
What is Mounjaro® / Zepbound®, and how are they different from other GLP-1 medications?
Mounjaro® and Zepbound® contain tirzepatide, a medication that acts on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors. This dual-action mechanism may offer additional metabolic benefits, including enhanced appetite regulation and improved insulin response.
Because tirzepatide works through more than one pathway, some patients may experience different results compared to single-pathway GLP-1 medications. Your TideMD clinician will review whether tirzepatide is a suitable option based on your medical history and treatment goals.
What are the side effects of the medication?
Medications such as Ozempic® and Mounjaro®/Zepbound® can cause similar side effects, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. Less common but more serious risks may include pancreatitis, gallbladder issues, and kidney complications.
Your TideMD provider will review your medical history and discuss potential risks to help determine whether these medications are appropriate and safe for you.
Are the prescribed medications injectable?
Yes. Medications such as Ozempic® and Mounjaro®/Zepbound® are administered subcutaneously, typically in the abdomen or thigh. Your TideMD provider will guide you through proper injection technique and ensure you feel confident and prepared before starting treatment.
Can the medications I’m taking as part of the TideMD program interfere with medications I take for diabetes, high blood pressure, or other health concerns?
During your onboarding process, you’ll complete detailed intake forms listing all medications you currently take. This information allows your provider to evaluate potential interactions and determine the safest treatment plan.
Your TideMD clinician will carefully review your medical history, prescriptions, and health conditions to ensure that any recommended medication is appropriate and does not conflict with your existing treatment regimen.
Will my insurance cover TideMD?
TideMD does not operate through insurance. All consultations, treatment plans, and services are offered through transparent, self-pay pricing.
Because we do not bill insurance, there are no prior authorizations, approvals, or paperwork required — making access to care faster, simpler, and more predictable for patients.
Will my insurance cover medications related to my TideMD treatment plan?
TideMD does not coordinate prescription coverage through insurance. All medications associated with your weight-loss program are provided through our direct-pay model, allowing you to avoid insurance restrictions, denials, and delays.
Your TideMD provider will review pricing and treatment options with you to ensure that your plan is safe, effective, and financially accessible.
How long does it take insurance to cover prescriptions related to my TideMD plan?
Because TideMD does not use insurance for medication coverage, there is no waiting period, no approval timeline, and no insurance processing involved.
Your treatment can begin as soon as you complete your medical evaluation and are determined eligible by your TideMD provider.
